Study: Transcriptomic Analysis of Lactobacillus plantarum 4_3 folate synthesis
show Abstracthide Abstract
The general objective of this work was to investigate the genetic potential of a high yield folate L. plantarum strain 4_3 to improve the understanding of all genes related to folate synthesis pathway. First, we sequenced the genome sequence of the strain to obtain the most complete overview possible of its potential. Then, the strain was grown under folate deficient laboratory medium and soybean medium. Basic fermentation characteristics were monitored, such as pH and folate yield, as well as the respective transcriptomic profiles. Monitoring of gene expression of folate production in the fermentation process is still blank. This approach allowed the identification of fermentation conditions that modulate specific physiological characteristics of L. plantarum 4_3, such as folate synthesis, as well as gene expression profiles.
